The MLA conference is earlier this year, so register now!

The Maine Library Association conference is coming right up!  We had a fantastic conference last year and are ready to keep the good times going.

Join us to celebrate how Maine libraries spark community: October 2nd & 3rd, 2017 at the Sunday River Resort in Newry.

For keynotes we have
 * Jack Gantos, author of over 50 books for children and adults
 * Patrick "PC" Sweeney, Political Director of EveryLibrary, a tireless and innovative advocate for libraries.

We have sessions on a variety of topics from experts both within and outside the library profession on topics ranging from Storywalks to Linked Data, Schmoozing to Facilities, Marketing to Genealogy.  We will also have the Statewide Council Meeting on Tuesday.

See you there!

LD 256 Update

The Senate and House have both voted to override the LD 256 veto. LD 256 is good to go. The Maine School Library Network and Marvel Databases are safe once more!

Thank you everyone who reached out over the past 24 hours. We had 449 people use our links to contact their representatives. Tons of shares on Facebook. Thousands of people saw our message. This was a big day for Maine libraries!
