The Maine Library Association is alarmed that libraries, librarians, and library services may be removed from NECHE’s 2026 Draft Standards. Academic libraries are essential to student success, faculty research, and community learning. We urge Maine’s library community to speak up and submit a statement to Standardsreview@neche.org by October 14th to support keeping libraries in higher education accreditation.
