Advocacy 

Have a direct impact on issues of intellectual freedom and legislation that affects Maine libraries by joining one of our Advocacy Groups. Libraries may also contact the group for assistance, resources, or more information. Chairpersons of Advocacy Groups also serve as voting members of the MLA Board. Intellectual Freedom Advocacy Group

The Intellectual Freedom Advocacy Group is focused on protecting Intellectual Freedom as guaranteed by the United States Constitution and the Library Bill of Rights of the American Library Association. We provide information and other assistance to libraries experiencing a challenge to library materials and help educate Maine librarians on issues of censorship and Intellectual Freedom.
