National Library Week 2022 

National Library Week continues with the Maine State Library and the Maine Library Association.

Wednesday, April 6:  Library Policy Day, 12-1 pm. Where: Zoom, Register here. 

Join Courtney Sparks, Director of the Freeport Community Library; Marijke Visser, Section Supervisor for Library Development at the Maine State Library; Kerrie Lattari, York Middle School Librarian; Michelle Sampson, York Public Library Director; and Wynter Giddings, Manager of Adult Services & Technology at Curtis Memorial Library and MLA President for a discussion on library policies and their impact.

Join Sonya Durney, Scholarly Communication Research & Teaching Librarian at the University of New England and MLA Vice-president; Jeffry Knox, Media Specialist for the Town of Gorham and Youth Services Asst. at Baxter Memorial Library; and Georgia Humphrey, Public Access TV Manager for the town of Gorham to discuss what to do when the media calls, seek opportunities to engage the media through letters to the editor, local cable, and story pitches, learn about message triangles, and more. The media can be great library advocate allies!
