Library Snapshot Day is a project that was started in 2007 by public library workers in New Jersey who wanted to show the impact their libraries have on their communities by collecting the same data during the same week and putting it all together into one report for elected officials.

The MLA Legislative Advocacy Group has been thinking of ways to use this basic platform to deliver an updated message of the impact ALL libraries have on the lives of Maine residents. The best advocacy work we can do is proactive and the Library Snapshot Project is one more tool for raising awareness. Let others know what awesome things you do everyday by sharing one day.

If you are preparing for budget requests from your town or school, planning a National Library Week celebration, or getting ready to talk with your elected officials, this conversation is for you. We hope that you can join us to learn more about this project and how your Library Snapshot could add to the national story!

The Coffee Chat Series is an MLA Membership benefit. Registration is open to all members, and the event Zoom link will be provided in your registration confirmation email.
